Name: (English) Eugene Chaud Blaze (Japanese) Enzan Ijuuin
Alias(es): Chaud Blaze
Age: 13 years old
Hair: Black and white
Eyes: Blue
Family: His father, the President of Blaze Quest
Status: Net Battler
Anime: Megaman NT Warrior (and subsequent series)
Voice: (English) Bill Switzer (Japanese) Saiga Mitsuki
History and Personality: Chaud Blaze is Lan's rival. He feels Lan always get in his way. He is a very powerful guy, as well as reserved, and not very friendly. I would go as far as to call him rather cold. He can be pompous and a bit condescending, but overall though Chaud is a good guy. He is chivalrous and dependable with a clear view of right and wrong and a desire to perpetuate justice. He is a genius and at thirteen is the rich vice-president of Blaze Quest, a game company that rivals Ayano-Tech. Chaud is also known for being one of the most powerful net-battlers around, almost never losing a match! His rude attitude makes him an instant rival of Lan's, not to mention an enemy of Yai's... though Yai developes feelings for him.
In the second series (Megaman Axcess) Chaud's role is somewhat altered. Rather than being a true rival to Lan they become something of partners as both are commissioned by the net police to help stop the Darkloids. In this series Chaud possesses the ability to Cross-Fuse with his powerful Net-navi, Protoman. In a battle Chaud is forced to give his navi a dark chip to increase his power and stop an enemy plot. Because of this Protoman becomes a Darkloid himself and Chaud is unable to continue his work as a net police op. However, Chaud refuses to give up and continues to assist in taking down the Darkloids and Nebula. He offers what assistance he can to Lan and also to the scientists working on the Dark Chip problem (he is a genius after all). He even goes so far as to physically attack his virtual foes when a dimensional area appears in his company building. Needless to say Chaud is a fighter who won't go down.
Relationships: Chaud doesn't have friends, he doesn't have time. The closest thing he has to a friend is his net navi, Protoman. Chaud and Protoman have an odd relationship. For one thing they have very similar personalities. They aren't simply net op and navi, but they aren't really friends like Lan and Megaman. In the beginning Chaud seems to view Protoman as a tool - though an exceptional one and Protoman sees it as his duty to do Chaud's bidding. They are using each other to build their strength. Whether through their interaction with Lan and Megaman, or simply by natural progression, the two do become rather close. This is evidenced by the fact that they are able to crossfuse. However, it is pointed out in the series that while Lan and Megaman can easily crossfuse due to their close bond of friendship, Chaud and Protoman are able to crossfuse due to a different kind of bond. They are still not quite friends. When Protoman goes dark Chaud puts up a strong front and truly is willing to see his former navi deleted, but for the first time he also shows emotion toward his navi. He would miss Protoman greatly.
The only person Chaud seems to consider a true rival is Lan, though sometimes he seems to dismiss Lan as he does everyone else. He disagrees with almost everything about Lan's philosophy on life and net battling, and they rarely get along, but the two eventually learn to work together. Chaud grudgingly comes to admit that Lan's philosophy seems to work for him, but he'll never admit that Lan might be his equal. As for Lan, well, Chaud infuriates him but he does respect his abilities.
In general Chaud doesn't have much use for anyone else, and especially not girls. However he does have some interaction with Yai, and with Anetta (a girl whose navi he was unable to save). In both cases he seems merely protective of the girls. Though they both seem to develop feelings of a romantic nature for him. For Chaud it is merely part of his duty - the strong must protect the weak. It's rather chivalrous actually. He does seem to soften up around the girls, becoming gentler and speaking more kindly. In the case of Yai it is probably because she is much younger and frightened, and with Anetta he likely feels guilty (though he wouldn't admit it).
Why we love him: What can I say? I have a thing for arrogant, cold guys who think they are above everyone else. Maybe it's their power, or the way nothing phases them. Either way it's seriously a good thing that I don't have a boyfriend... Anyway... the thing is, even though he claims not to care, Chaud is always there when he is needed, willing to step in and do what needs to be done to save the world.
