History and Personality: A friend of Subaru who founded the Crimson Knights organization with her, but afterwards left it. He founded the Crimson Knights in the heat of battle as he fought to protect Subaru from Player Killers. Eventually, he left the order after being constantly chewed out by Silver Knight. Amiable, easygoing and sociable, his stated goal when playing the game is simply to have fun, rather than to simply gain levels or better items. He is an extremely skilled fighter, as good as (if not better than) Sora, and takes it upon himself to protect Subaru and the others. His character is very powerful but rather than abuse that power by picking on newer players he has taken it upon himself to help them.  His favorite thing to do seems to be to "rescue" weaker players. That was probably his original intent when helping to form the Crimson Knights - which would explain why he left after they became "rule enforcers".  In real life, he is a business man who often travels. He and B.T. have met in real life. He is the only one who knows that Subaru is handicapped until he reveals the secret to Tsukasa in episode 23. As a token of their friendship, Subaru was given a phone number that could be used to contact Crim in the real world at any time and he encourages her to call him whenever she wants to talk (she never uses it though); he casually refers to this number as a "spell". While a tad overprotective of Subaru, he still encourages her to become stronger herself.

Relationships: Crim doesn't generally believe in mixing the real world with the online World so he doesn't build many close relationships.  He takes some interest in Tsukasa, because of the boy's unusual circumstances and he is always willing to help another player out.  However he doesn't really interact with many of them on a personal level.

Crim does form an odd partnership with BT, who would like the relationship to go further - she even asks if she can meet him on the outside.  Apparently Crim does break his rule and meet her in the real world, but he seems to regret it later.  it is fairly clear that she has some romantic interest in him while he does not have an interest in her.  In many ways they are using each other to get to the Key of the Twilight.  Regardless they do have a mutual respect and some sort of trust.  It is an odd friendship, but a friendship none-the-less.

Such is not the case between Crim and Subaru.  Crim definitely cares very deeply for Subaru and at one point apparently had contact with her on the outside.  He encourages her to call him and spend time with him.  However, though they may have been close in the past, Subaru seems to think that they have grown apart and should stay that way.  Crim is somewhat hurt by her new attitude regarding their relationship, though his "character" in the game refuses to allow him to act on that hurt.  He does his best to hide it and settles for watching over Subaru and trying to help Tsukasa because she seems to like the boy. It is debatable whether his interest in Subaru is romantic or brotherly, or even fatherly though the impression the English dub gave me was that he has a romantic attachment to her.

Techniques: Crim uses a long spear and a very acrobatic fighting style.

Why we love him: An easy going guy who is willing to help anyone at any time regardless of the reason?  He's a veritable knight in shining armor!
