History and Personality: A talented military officer of the UEAF, Jun is a stickler for rules and regulations. He is a long time friend of Yurika, and practically gives up his career in the military to be her XO. This is because he is in love with her, though she never seems to notice. When the Nadesico takes off without military permission Jun is left behind on the military base. Panicked and upset he gets a pilot nanite injection and hops on board an Aestivalis to stop the rogue crew and get back his Yurika. Unfortunately he doens't do such a hot job and his mecha is disabled. Akito, and fellow nadesico fighter pilot, Gai Daidoji, take him aboard where he takes his position as XO as though nothing untoward happened on either side. Jun spends nearly all of his time looking after (or mooning after) Yurika, and is hopelessly jealous of her attention to Akito - who doesn't seem to want it. A true bishie in nearly every sense of the word, poor Jun is often mistaken for a young lady. Though he lacks the screen time (and therefore depth) to be a primary character ,Jun is an important part of the crew... and the show.
Relationships: Jun's only real relationship is with Yurika, his friend of many years and current commanding officer. They met as children when her family moved from Mars to Earth before the Jovian war. Though he is hopelessly in love with her and incredibly loyal, Yurika is oblivious. Still, protecting Yurika is the primary motivating factor in Jun's life. There is nothing he is passionate about except for her.
Why we love him: Because we feel bad for him? And he's a sweetheart - can't help but love a guy who'll do anything for unrequited love...
