History and Personality:
Takuya is a typical goggle boy, and a member of his school's soccer club. He was at home sitting at the table just before his brother Shinya's birthday party when he got his SMS message. During his first moments in the Digital World, he was chosen as the Legendary Warrior of Fire when Cerberumon attacked Fire Terminal. He is the most obvious leader of the group, though he sometimes shares that responsibility with Koji.
Takuya has a strong sense of justice and doing what's right. He's energetic and athletic, tending to act without thinking first. Takuya's hotheaded personality generally ends up in him arguing with Koji, but eventually they put away their differences and become friends. Takuya acts like an older brother to Tommy, who reminds him of Shinya. He also has a liking for Zoe, though he never admitted it. In general Takuya is always concerned about others. he feels bad about how he treated his younger brother before leaving, looks after Tommy, and tries to help Koji sort out his relationship with his newly discovered twin, Koichi. He is always looking out for the other members of the group, even if it puts him in danger, or they don't seem to want help.
Takuya and Koji are given the power to Hyper Spirit Evolve and eventually the two combine all the spirits to form Susanoomon and defeat Lucemon.
Relationships: Takuya is a pretty friendly guy, and he gets along with pretty much everyone (even JP, though JP cries over the attention he gets from Zoe). The only person he doesn't get along with is, ironically, the person he is probably closest to in the end - Koji. Takuya and Koji can bring out the best and the worst in one another. They both have strong leadership qualities and the determination and decisiveness that wants to lead, but they often see things very differently as Takuya tends to think with his heart while Koji thinks with his head. More than once they come to blows. However, the team works best when the two share the responsibility of leadership, with Takuya generally at the head and Koji close behind to fix any problems... they eventually grow to respect one another and Takuya is able to help Koji through his problems with his newfound brother. Takuya, being an older brother, is surprisingly insightful and helpful in this area.
Takuya takes up an older-brother type role with Tommy, the youngest and most uncertain of the group. Takuya never discourages him and always helps him tactfully (surprising for such an honest, loud-mouthed guy).
Takuya and Zoe are... well, he likes her, but he'd never admit it, and she probably likes him too, but she'd never admit it. So the two are going nowhere fast, but they make each other blush a lot, and they inspire some decent fanfiction - usually very humorous fanfiction ^_^
Techniques: Takuya is able to "Spirit Evolve" to either Agunimon (Human) or Burning-Greymon (Beast). In the second half of the series, Seraphimon's power enabled Takuya to merge his spirits and "Fusion Spirit Evolve" to Aldamon and Ophanimon's power upgraded Takuya's D-Tector, allowing him to "Hyper Spirit Evolve" to Emperor-Greymon by combining the Spirits of Fire with the Spirits of Wind, Ice, Earth, and Wood. Along with Koji, using all the spirits, he can become Susanomon, In these forms he has many attacks. Agunimon's attacks: Pyro Punch, Pyro Darts, Pyro Tornado. Burning Greymon's attacks: Pyro barrage, Wildfire Tsunami, Fire Below. Aldamon's attacks: Atomic Inferno, Solar Wind Destroyer. Emporer Greymon's attacks: Dragonfire Crossbow, Pyro Dragons, Inferno Fist. Susanoomon: Celestial Blade, Heaven's Thunder.
Why we love him: Why not? Honest, reliable, understanding, protective, sweet, friendly... shall I go on? Now if only he wasn't 11 we'd be talking...
