Eight Ain’t Enough

Grovile begins to bang it’s own head against a fixture.  Brock tells Ash to recall grovile, but lovedisk attacks and grovile is knocked out.

Team Rocket is posing as Juan and his entourage.  They are pretending to put on a show.  The first people who come are suspicious since Juan is supposed to be battling, but James says he beat the challenger quickly.

At the battle Ash sends out corfish, who isn’t doing much better than grovile.  But it dodges sweetkiss and eventually knocks lovedisc out.   Ash has three pokemon and Juan has two.   Juan’s next choice is wiscash.  This pokemon is so fast it flattens corfish in the first attack.  As hmust switch pokemon yet again.

Team Rocket has gathered quite a crowd.  But they aren’t doing too well.  They decide the show is a flop, but they promise autographs and pictures after the show.  And the ladies feel that is worth waiting for.

Ash chooses Swellow next.  A good choice, unless his opponent goes underwater.  And then there is wiscash’s tickle attack…  and hyper beam.  Swellow is knocked to the ground and knocks a statue over.  But swellow is the endurance pokemon and sweeps right into an aerial ace, heading under water to knock wicash up into the air.  Another aerial ace has Juan ordering his wiscash to dive again, but swellow knocks it out before it manages to get under the water.  Ash still has swellow and Pikachu, but both are tired, and Juan has saved his best pokemon for last.  It is mylotic, and it is fully rested.  Ash knew it was coming, but that may not do him much good.  He hits mylotic with a head on aerial ace, but mylotic quickly recovers.  Swellow dodges mylotic’s attack with a double team, but mylotic uses a twister to knock it out.  That leaves Ash with Pikachu.  Ash knows mylotic will just dodge electric attacks and defend, but he is determined.  He opens with a thunder.  Mylotic just sits through it and when it is over mylotic uses recover to fully heal.

Team Rocket charges the women who line up for an autograph.  They don’t actually give out autographs though –they give out bottle caps instead!  When the girls realize they’ve been had one of them pulls out a blastoise sending Team Rocket flying and making the money fall into their hands.

At the battle mylotic uses a twister with water in it against Pikachu.  Juan says no one has ever recovered from that attack, but Pikachu uses thunder to evaporate the water.  He then attacks, but mylotic recovers again.  It then dives under water.  Ash Pikachu grab onto mylotic when it surfaces for an attack and then has Pikachu flip it under water and use a full power thunder.  Mylotic is defeated and Ash wins the battle!  Brock says that the water increased the power of the thunder attack.  Juan is very impressed and congratulates Ash.  Ash finally gets his rain badge which means he can now compete in the championships.  Of course, the next championship isn’t for three months… it will take place in Evergrande city.  That gives Ash a good while to train and he is determined to use every moment.  Juan tells May there is a contest coming up in Pacifidlog town.

Location: Sootopolis Island

Notes: They say the battle was in the paper – but it hasn’t been even a day has it?

Why is it raining in the gym?

            Juan is conceited…

How does James have any bottle caps left?

As my brother said – they wouldn’t make it a two-parter if Ash didn’t win ^_^

So are we going to switch the focus to May for a while?  Does that mean we’ll see Drew again?  I love Drew!!!
