Hi Ho Silver Wind!

Our heroes have arrived at the Grand Festival’s main arena.  It’s time for the contest of May’s life!  May heads in to register and receives a guide book.  They head to the dorm rooms and find them more like a hotel!  Before they can head inside they are surprised by May and Max’s mom.  Their dad can’t come because of his work at the gym, but Mom assures he’ll watch the whole thing on TV.  They head up to May’s room and read May’s letters.  They keep in touch with a lot of people.  With all her friends supporting her, May is ready for this competition.  Brock explains that the competition will run on the standard contest format.

Meanwhile, James is impersonating Norman again.  They are offering Pokemon counseling.

May heads out to do some brush-up training, and to introduce her pokemon to her mother.  Her mother likes Beautifly best because of its elegance.  Ash decides to take the opportunity to practice too.  He sends snowrunt out to practice ice beam.  But Snowrunt still doesn’t have it down.  Then munchlax tries to get into trouble eating other people’s pokeblock.  They feed it some of May’s pink surprise and it settles down.  Then Drew and Roselia show up and May runs over to talk to them.  They argue –again…  and then they are interrupted by Harley – which is not a happy surprise.  He wants forgiveness for what he did to May in the contest they were in together.  May says sure, but Ash is going to keep an eye on him.  May introduces Harley to Drew,  Harley thinks May and Drew are romantically involved because she has one of Drew’s roses. When Harley leaves Drew leave too, without even a goodbye.  Poor May!  Even though she claims they aren’t really friends, she obviously wishes they were.  May isn’t sure she trusts Harley, which is probably wise.

Definitely wise, because as soon as Harley is away from them he says she’ll be sorry she ran into him.

Team Rocket’s scheme is in full swing with a “session” with espeon.  He tells the trainer to leave it with him for a while and he’ll train it.  Harley sees them and is enamored – evidently he is a Norman fan.  Team Rocket already has quite a collection.

May and Beautifly are practicing and Harley runs up gushing compliments.  Drew overhears, and he doesn’t look pleased.  Of course, he doesn’t look mad either…  Harley tells May it would be cool if she only used silverwind in the competition.  And now all his gushing finally has her convinced that he’s sincere.  She agrees that she’ll only use the one attack.  Drew warns that it is a bad idea, that the competition will be hard enough as it is.  Harley tells her to ignore Drew and offers to get her some real advice from Norman.  He presents Team Rocket’s flyer. Bad for Team Rocket, because Norman’s wife is right there and she knows he isn’t coming.  May says that the flyer says “dad is here” and Harley is surprised.  Ash explains that Norman is Max and May’s dad, and Harley is appalled that he didn’t know.  Our heroes run to the site of the counseling and confirm that “Norman” isn’t Norman at all.  May has beautifly attack, and the truth is revealed. Team Rocket tries to escape, but they’ve been forgetting to shock proof their gadgets recently so Pikachu sends them flying.  Beautifly cushions the pokemon as they fall.  And now May is convinced that she can make it with silverwind.  Drew is watching in the distance, and he is disturbed.  Drew and Harley both do really well – 95 for Drew and 84 for Harley.  Now May is up, and her entrance is perfect.  She earns an 88.  Back in the coordinator’s room Harley is mad that May’s score is higher than his, but he hides it when Drew comes in.  Not that Drew is buying Harley’s act.

Outside May is congratulated by her friends, and Harley… They find out who made it to the next round.  Drew is third, and may is forty-eighth.  Harley is like sixty-fourth.  Drew is nearby, but he remains out of their site.  I think he’s worried about May…

            Location: Slateport City

Notes: There are 247 people who have one five ribbons?  How many contests are there?  Don’t they have a Grand Festival every year?  If so, that means every year there are more than 247 times 5 contests.  And there was only one more in the month before the Festival?  That’s ridiculous, it make no sense…

It’s so cute when James hold Jesse back ^_^

It’s been a month and snowrunt still doesn’t have ice beam down.

I can’t stand Harley.  And he better not mess things up for May and Drew!!!  (I am such a May/Drew fan…)

Too bad Team Rocket didn’t run when they had the chance… well, too bad for them…

Why do they keep calling them trainers?  I thought they were “coordinators”.

I want Drew to rescue May!  He does care what happens to her.

                        Death to Harley!
