On Cloud Arcanine

            Our heroes have stopped at an out of the way, but very popular, bakery.  This was, of course, May’s idea.  Ash does a bit of grousing, but he doesn’t seem too upset.  Suddenly an arcanine runs toward the bakery.  It jumps right over our heroes and runs away.  May would love to catch it, but it seems someone else had the idea first.  Drew is chasing the arcanine!  It gets away though.  Drew also came to compete in the grand festival.  He already has one ribbon and he’s determined to catch the arcanine and use it in contests.  May tells him she’s going to catch it.

            Team Rocket is working at the bakery and they see Ash and company leave.

            Ash and his friends are using mudkyp to search for arcanine, and they find it!  But May’s combustkin can’t keep up with extreme speed.  It escapes and they follow.  They run into a wood cutter and ask about the arcanine.  He tells them that he already told Drew (though he doesn’t know his name) all about it.  But he’ll tell them too.

            Meanwhile, Team Rocket is having a cake eating contest.  Only the cake isn’t theirs to eat.  When it is very small the boss yells for them to bring it out – it was a wedding cake.  They hide the remains in wobuffet’s mouth.  When the boss finds out he fires them.

            The old woodcutter tells our heroes where arcanine tends to hang out.  They go to wait for it at a spring.  While our heroes wait they stop for lunch.  Sadly they are still eating when arcanine shows up and it gets away.

            Team Rocket is walking through the forest, starving, and wobuffet finds some berries.  It eats all it found though and Jesse tells it to take them to where he found it.

            Our heroes have found the berry grove.  Arcanine likes to come here.  There are only two ways to get to the trees so our heroes wait at the two entrances to try to catch it.  When arcanine shows up it looks pretty good; corfish and mudkyp get in some good shots and heard it toward May.  Squirtle is too scared to do anything though.  So May sends out Munchlax to use metronome.  It uses extreme speed, but instead of chasing arcanine the pokemon just picks and eats berries. 

            Team Rocket takes the hard way down the cliffs to the berry trees.  But there are no berries, because Munchlax ate them all.  Before they can kill wobuffet arcanine runs by and they decide to catch it.

            Our heroes are waiting at the last spot they know of to find arcanine.  But Drew is also there and arcanine gets away.  May challenges Drew to a battle to decide who gets to go after arcanine.  She uses squirtle and Drew’s flygone quickly puts it in tears.  Drew runs off and the others give chase.  They find arcanine up on top of the mountain and it has pups!  That’s why it has been coming down the mountain so frequently, to get food for her growlithe.

            Team Rocket shows up and snatches the growlithe on accident, then they sang arcanine when she jumps to save her pups.  May tells Drew to use steel wing and flygone takes down the balloon.  They follow to where it falls and Ash and Brock start to call out their pokemon.  But May asks them to let her and Drew finish it off.  Flygone slices the net and then Team Rocket starts a pokemon battle.  May and Drew work together surprisingly well and defeat them.

            May and Drew decide not to catch arcanine.  They don’t want to break up the family.  That evening Drew takes his leave.  He tells May she should enter the Saffron City contest.  He says he isn’t going to enter but he thinks May would do well.

            That’s a really long line…

            It’s official.  Drew is a supporting character and probably May’s future boyfriend ~_^

            I thought Drew and May were friends now?  At least, they weren’t insulting each other the last two times they met…

            Team Rocket is working again?  And the boss looks like the same guy as at the Hoenn league Championships.

            Ash says combustkin could never keep up with extreme speed, and Pikachu looks embarrassed.  Seems Ash accidentally hurt the other pokemon’s feelings…

            Team Rocket ate most of the cake, but it is still frosted in the same pattern -_-U That’s some cake.

            Like a brand new squirtle could ever take down an arcanine – water type or not.

            That is the smallest squirtle ever…

            Metronome and assist always use such convenient attacks for May…

            That berry grove is far from where Team Rocket was.  How did wobuffet get there?

You like how they used to call it Indigo, but now they call it Kanto?

May and Drew work well together?  Doesn’t that go against their whole “friends” work better together?  And “you have to understand your partner…”

It’s okay for them to catch a wild pokemon, but not okay for Team Rocket?  It isn’t like it’s stealing…
