Characters

Childman is the sorcerer who found Orphen and Azalie when they were children.  He is among the most prestigious sorcerers ever to live and is the greatest teacher at the Tower of Fang.  He is wise and compassionate, but also honorable and responsible - which is why he had to turn Azalie down even though he returned her love.  As the series progresses we learn something of his past and learn that he often risks his life to save others.  When Orphen tries to save Azalie, Childman is given the task of stopping him, and of destroying Azalie.  He pretends that this is his plan (even to Orphen), but in reality he and his apprentice - Hartia - are trying to save Azalie without the council of elders knowing.  This causes conflict with Orphen, but Childman truly cares about both Orphen and Azalie.
