Li Showrun / Li Syaoran
Li
is also an eleven year old fifth grader. He’s
an exchange student from Hong Kong. Most of the characters are Japanese but Li
is Chinese. Because of this he
finds Japanese to be his most difficult class (that’s English in the dub
because in the dub he’s still Chinese but the others are American – I
think). He is very good at math.
Li starts out very cold and rather unkind. He even tries to take the
cards from Sakura by force! That’s
because he is a direct descendant of Clow Reed, the man who created the cards.
He is a powerful magician and excellent fighter.
And he turns out to be a good friend.
He even becomes much warmer, sometimes smiling.
That’s because he falls in love with Sakura. But he can still be cold
sometimes without realizing it (like with Meilin) and sometimes on purpose (like
with Eli, whom he doesn’t trust and is a little jealous of)
He helps Sakura catch the cards and then transform them.
