Can you guess which one? Season
3 is an oddball among digi seasons. Season
one and two begin in the digital world, someone is trying to destroy it; and
then, near the end, they move into the real world as well.
And season 4 works pretty much the same way. But season 3 doesn’t.
In this season they begin in the real world, go to the digital world for
a short time near the end, and then return to the real world.
Plus, in season 3, Digimon starts out as a card game and a TV show the kids watch (they refer to seasons 1 and 2 as their favorite show, and even call Rika ‘Sora’ at one point). Even when the digimon become real, the kids use cards to beef them up.
