 Prologue: In the world of Pokemon

 

             Ash was sitting beneath a tree holding a glowing egg in his lap. His friends sat near him.

            “I think it’s gonna hatch!” Brock exclaimed cheerfully.

“Alright!” Ash sounded really happy, but then he usually was when it came to Pokemon.  The three friends stared down at the egg, they could hardly wait. 

A crash sounded in the distance and all three looked toward the sound for the briefest of moments.  In that instant a small blue creature with long ears and crazy black hair wiggled into Ash’s lap causing the egg to roll away, unnoticed. Ash looked back down into his lap.

“Hey! I think it hatched!”  The other two looked back toward him.

             Misty’s brow furrowed, “What kind of Pokemon is that?”

            Brock scratched his head, “I don’t know- I’m not even sure it is a Pokemon.”

            “Puu! Puu!” A blue haired girl with weird clothes walked through calling this strange word. (It’s Botan – but I’m sure you already knew that)

           “There you are Puu.” She walked up to Ash and took Puu.  “So sorry about that.  We’ve been looking for this little guy all over the place.”

           “Hey, give that back!  That’s my new pokemon.  It just hatched!”

           “This thing?” Botan studied Puu closely, “This thing couldn’t possibly have hatched out of your egg.  He was hatched months ago.”

           "It’s possible Ash.” Brock said thoughtfully.

          “Yeah, I mean, it doesn’t look like a Pokemon.  Remember, Brock said that before.” Misty pointed out.

          “That’s true, but then where is my pokemon?”

          A green haired girl ran up, “Oh Botan, you found him!  Keiko and I were worried.”

          Keiko came up behind her.  “Look what Yukina and I found.”  (Yes, the green haired girl is Yukina) She held out the egg.

           “My egg!” Ash cried jumping up and snatching it, cradling it to his chest.

          “It must have rolled away when we were distracted.” Misty said.

          “Oh, well, I’m just glad everything’s okay now.”  Keiko smiled.

           “Yes, well, got to go.  Ha ha!” Botan grabbed Keiko by the hand and ran off into the woods.  Yukina followed behind, a little confused.

           “Well that was strange.” Ash said.

           “Yeah, who do you think they were Brock?” Misty asked, “Brock?” Brock was staring after the girls with starry eyes and a bright blush. “BROCK!!! Oh brother.” Misty shook her head dejectedly.
