Dortin
Dortin is the younger brother of Volcan. He, like Volcan, is a troll, but he is a much nicer person than Volcan. The brothers are indebted to Orphen, and as part of their payment they become spies in Cleao's home. They pose as kitchen servants and their real job is to tell Orphen when he can come steal the sword. Dortin ends up with the task of carrying the Sword of Baltanders until Orphen needs it. Dortin is nervous and easily frightened. But he's loyal to his brother through everything, even though he's always scolding Volcan about his behavior. Dortin really grateful to Orphen, he's also scared of Orphen. He believes in doing what is right, and following the law. He doesn't' want to steal the sword because it is Cleao's, and he doesn't think Volcan should betray Orphen. He can be very wise at times, and he definitely has more common sense and less pride than Volcan.
*Note* I read somewhere that Dortin is a girl... I don't think they ever actually say in the series...
