Races of Hyrule

Hylians –  The chosen guardians of the Sacred Realm and the Triforce. Their blood is infused with magic giving them psychic powers (including telepathy and at times visions of future events) and great skill at wizardry.  They are tall and elegantly slim as a rule.  They have long, slim, pointed ears.

Gorons –  They are taller than Kokiri, and shorter than the average Hylian, but far wider and stronger.  They are able to roll themselves into a ball to travel quickly and flatten obstacles.  Their hard backs allow them protection.  They are earthen colored and have no need of clothes.  They are skilled in carpentry and smithing of all types.  They eat rocks and can withstand great heat.  Darunia is the only Goron humanoid in form.  It is rumored a huge Goron lives at the top of Death Mountain.

Gerudo – A race comprised entirely of females (a male is born only once in a hundred years).  They are also all very similar in appearance.  Tall as Hylians, with red hair, and in good physical condition they are skilled archers, horsemen (women), swordsmen (women), gymnasts, and martial artists.  They are thieves by trade, but under Nabooru they are honorable never stealing from the weak or the just.

Zora – The Zora dwell in water, but they are capable of surviving on land as well.  They are tall thin and muscular.  They have fin like appendages near their arms and legs.  Their heads are large, but their features are humanoid, and their skin is light blue with dark blue patterns of spots.  They have no hair.  They are skilled fishermen and weavers.  Their weapon of choice is the spear.  The only known exception to the Zora physical type is their king.  He is quite heavy with small arms and legs.  He rarely leaves his throne.  His facial features are far more fishlike than those of his followers.  He is also the only Zora who wears clothing.

Kokiri – the Kokiri are forever children, and all have blond hair (the only known exception to this is Saria who has green hair).  They have pointed ears but the bulk of their ears are more rounded and less narrow than those of Hylians. They are musicians and skilled with wood.  They live inside living trees.  Each Kokiri has a guardian fairy.  They all wear the same clothing.  A green tunic that falls to their knees, belted at the waist, a pointed green hat (for boys) or a green headband (for girls), and pointed brown shoes. They are playful and control the lost woods, which is the southern barrier of Hyrule.

Subrosians – These short, hooded creatures are not actually from Hyrule but from the underground land of Subrosia for to the west (alternate dimension).  Because they are never seen without their brightly colored cloaks it is unknown how they look, but they are shorter than the Kokiri and have large white eyes that glow.  Females are marked by the bows that they wear.
