Grandpa is, obviously, Kagome's grandfather.  He is the shrine keeper and caretaker.  He thinks he has spiritual powers, but, as Inuyasha often says, his 'magic' is useless.  He loves history, especially the history of their shrine and the sacred jewel.  He tends to talk too much.  Also, he is terrified of demons, and at first tries to banish Inuyasha.  He makes up illnesses to excuse Kagome from school... and sometimes (usually) they are very strange, some aren't even real!
