Characters

Stephanie is an interesting character... She has no magic, but she once did, and she still does a great deal of research on sorcery and the history of magic.  She is very knowledgeable and helpful, but she likes to flirt with Orphen just to bother Cleao.  At one point she betrays Orphen because she is being threatened, but she returns to his side.  The odd part comes later... we discover that Stephanie used to be a guy named Steven.  Steven was a sorcerer who joined up with Orphen just after he left the Tower of Fang and traveled with him for a few years.  They were best friends.  But something happened and Steven almost died.  While healing himself he used up all his magic.  But, while he was at it, he turned himself into a woman... yeah, he's/she's kinda creepy...  but Stephanie's loyal and a lot of help.  Her biggest flaw is that vicious mean streak that surfaces around Cleao...
