Ash Ketchum

Ash: Our adorable hero! Ash is ten when he sets out on his pokemon journey, determined to become the best pokemon master ever. At the beginning Ash really lets people get to him, he fights with Misty and with Gary (his rival), but by the third season he’s really matured.  He doesn’t fight with Misty, even when she tries to fight with him, he doesn’t let insults get to him, and he is even friends with Gary! Ash doesn’t always think things through, caring more about feelings than facts.  But he can be a good strategist, able to see ways around a problem no one else could.  His battling style is unconventional as well. But what really makes the difference is that Ash truly cares about pokemon.  They are his friends, not just his fighters.  Ash is very friendly and deeply caring.  He loves to help others.  But what he loves most is pokemon, and sometimes he doesn’t always get human relationships.  He’s really clueless when it comes to anything involving romance.

                    Pokemon: Pikachu (starter), Butterfree (caught as a Caterpie, returned to wild), Charizard (found as a Charmander, chose to go with Ash, now training in Charicific valley), Squirtle (chose to go with Ash, now helping fire fighting squad in Johto), Bulbasuar (caught, but chose Ash, now staying at P. Oak’s lab to keep peace), Pidgeot (caught as Pidgey, released to wild), Mankey (left to help a fighting trainer), Tauros, Kingler (caught as a Crabby), Muk, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Noctowl, Bayleaf (caught as Chikorita), Heracross, Swellow (caught as a Taillow), Grovile (caught as a Treecko), Corfish, Torkle, Glaylee (caught as a snowrunt).
