Bass is a mystery for much of the second season. He is the only net navi who appears to stand a chance against the Virus Beast, but he seems to have little interest in stopping it. Instead he is trying to rediscover his past because he has no memory of it... he forcibly shares some of Megaman's memories and discovers that he is the remnant of Pharaohman's program, rebuilt from bugs in the net. Without the evilness... he confronts the Virus Beast trying to regain the rest of his program, but the beast consumes him.
