Marik Ishtar is not a nice guy.  He's very bitter because he has always been expected to care for the pharaoh's tomb instead of living a normal life. But before he had the Pharaoh's secret tattooed on his back and gained possession of the Millennium rod, he was evidently much sweeter.  Now he hates Yami and wants the Pharaoh's power for himself.  He will not hesitate to use or destroy others.  He is arrogant and self absorbed.  Currently he and Yami Bakura have formed an uneasy alliance.
