Gosoboro Kaiba was founder of Kaiba corporation and Seto and Mokuba's adoptive father.  Seto challenged Gosoboro to a game of chess (Gosoboro was the world chess champion) and he won.  As his reward the brothers were adopted.  Gosoboro drove Seto to exhaustion and originally had planned just to use his body for the mind of his own son, Noah, who had been paralyzed.  Gosoboro is ruthless and unfeeling; in fact, his company was a military contractor (made weapons of mass destruction) before Seto took over and turned it into a technology company.  Gosoboro was never seen after until he appears in the virtual world.  He is conceited, cruel, and power hungry, with no morals or scruples.
