The Kyoto Oniwaban group is living a relatively normal life, running an inn (restaurant?) called the Aoiya. But they keep up their training. They are led by Okina (and later Misao). They are far truer to the original Oniwaban group than the Tokyo group is now. They are a network of spies who live by a strict code of honor and work to protect the people of Japan. They are very instrumental in the fight against Shishio and the Juppongatana. Each of the four normal members uses a form of a weapon called a Shuriken which they throw at their enemies.
Names (left to right): Omime (first woman), Shirojo (first man), Misao (duh!), Masukami (also called Omasu) (other woman), and Kurojo (large man).
